THE WEEKLY LETTER
When you request the Weekly Letter, the website asks for your email address only. Squarespace stores signup and subscription information, including the email address and records used to manage the request, such as its source, status, confirmation and opt-out information.
We use an email-confirmation process for new website subscriptions. Please confirm your request using the message sent by Squarespace. Submitting the form is a request to subscribe; confirmation is required before you join the website mailing audience.
We use subscription information to send Scripture, pastoral reflections, invitations to practice the Way of Jesus, and occasional news from our gatherings in Lancaster and Downingtown. Reflections typically arrive on Mondays and Thursdays.
Our communications administrator exports eligible confirmed subscriber addresses from Squarespace and distributes the reflections manually through Gmail. Google processes message delivery, replies and other information associated with that email service. The sending address appears on the messages you receive. Our public contact for privacy inquiries and unsubscribe requests is the.catacombs.fellowship@gmail.com.
Existing congregational recipients are maintained separately from new website subscribers and are included only where their prior consent supports the same correspondence. We do not automatically import or merge the congregation into the Squarespace list.
SPAM PROTECTION AND WEBSITE INFORMATION
The signup uses Google reCAPTCHA to help prevent spam and abuse. This security service may process device, browser and interaction information needed to assess suspicious activity. Necessary security processing can occur independently of optional analytics preferences.
Squarespace processes technical information, which can include IP address, browser, device and pages visited, to host, protect and measure use of this website. Our cookie settings restrict nonessential Squarespace cookies until you opt in. The cookie banner provides Accept all, Decline all and Manage cookies choices. You can reopen Cookie Preferences to change your choice later.
The individual visitor Activity Log is disabled. Essential website and security processing continues. Restricting nonessential cookies does not mean that no technical information is processed, and these controls do not guarantee that every third-party technical cookie is blocked.
YOUR CHOICES
To stop receiving the Weekly Letter, reply “unsubscribe” directly to any letter you receive or email the.catacombs.fellowship@gmail.com. You do not need to create an account or explain your decision.
We monitor both the sending inbox and the public contact inbox. Requests received through either route are applied to the relevant Squarespace subscription records and our manual suppression process before subsequent mailings. Suppression applies across website and congregational recipient records, so a fresh export or another audience source does not override an unsubscribe request.
We keep limited opt-out information to avoid adding you again by mistake. A later request to subscribe is reviewed for genuine new consent; we do not erase the earlier opt-out history simply to resume sending.
ACCESS, HANDLING AND RETENTION
We do not sell the mailing list. Access is limited to people administering Catacombs communications and the service providers used for that purpose. Subscriber exports are working files used to prepare and check mailings; they are kept in protected, access-limited locations and removed when no longer needed.
We retain subscriber details while you are subscribed, subject to periodic review. We may retain limited consent, opt-out and related administrative records when needed to respect your choices and maintain accurate records.
You may email the.catacombs.fellowship@gmail.com to request access, correction or deletion of information we hold about you. We will respond subject to applicable requirements and any records we need to retain, including limited information needed to continue honoring an opt-out. Deletion is not a reason to resume sending messages to you.
SERVICE PROVIDERS AND CHANGES
Squarespace provides website hosting, subscription storage and confirmation services. Google provides Gmail and reCAPTCHA. Information is processed using these providers' services and systems, which may operate in more than one country. For more information, see:
